Tarzali Vineyard
My husband Cameron and his parents Pauline and David started the vineyard in 2006 on their property in Warrenbayne, Victoria.
They initially planted 43 rows of Riesling covering about 7 acres and since 2010 have added Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo and Sangiovese varieties and now covers about 10 acres of land in total.
In 2015, the last of the 16 rows of the Riesling were grafted over to Shiraz which now allows us to produce quality, boutique wines in both red and white varieties.
The vineyard began through conversations with David's cousin John Ellis, who is the owner and previous winemaker at Hanging Rock Winery in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria. He thought the farm would be a great place to grow some grapes, and the initial plot of Riesling was the variety he wanted us to supply for his wine back at Hanging Rock. John's son Rob has since taken over the winemaking and has produced some award winning wine in this time.
The venture then has evolved, whereby we have been able to get the wine bottled in not only some of Hanging Rock's label, but in our own Tarzali label as well.
Our wines have won a number of awards over the last few years.
