A portrait of my children once a week, every week in 2015.
Hugh: You turned four this week and already we have had some big things happen. The best one is that the bottle fairies came and finally took that bed time bottle away and it didn't bother you one bit. A sign that you were well and truly ready to give it away. I was actually a bit worried on the first night how it would all go down but no, you just went to bed with your Spot and Dino toy and that was that.
You have been asking a lot of questions lately, one in particular is wondering when you are going to get bigger because you are four now. All in good time my love. All in good time. What a fascinating age this is.
Other little things for memories sakes are that you have a sudden interest for numbers, footy jumper numbers in particular and you are constantly asking and wanting to learn all about this telling the time business.
You think you're the boss around here; a first born thing I guess. Im not even allowed to sing and dance whilst Im driving the car. It doesn't stop me though. he he!! This bossiness can be quite entertaining to watch I might add. Especially watching your sister completely ignore your instructions and not listen to your game ideas or your 'watch me' antics.
You also are constantly questioning things, why this and why that. It drives me bonkers some days but its just your nature that you just have to know. Your brilliant memory still always surprises me, picking out random things from weeks, months ago that I had even just about forgotten.
You are footy mad and I love it. Though the Collingwood team song is getting a bit overplayed don't you think? You want to dress like its summer time and its common practice for you to get yourself dressed into your shorts and t-shirt for breakfast. You often query why strangers in the street are wearing shorts and why you can't. Its just so silly as it has been so cold lately. To get you to wear that green vest that you are wearing in the photo is a massive win in my books.
Only a snapshot of life with you here today but there sure is so much to look forward to this year. Number four is going to be brilliant!
Edith: You don't say much when we go to the footy, but you do love it when we go. You get to eat hot chips and lollies and you love a run around on the footy oval. You also just love hanging out with your big brother.
Oliver: When you are up and at em, its go, go and go. So to capture you having a little spell is not a common occurrence these days. Im not sure what you were looking at here but I just love you in your plastic pants and coat. Hopefully that snotty nose clears up real soon.
