The month that was....June09:00:00
It goes without saying that there are plenty of photo-taking challenges and link ups doing the rounds over in blogland. If you have no idea what Im am talking about then you probably need to head over to the following sites and have a meander. There is Fat Mum Slim's Photo a Day challenge, Toni over at Finding Myself Young with 52 Weeks of Memories, Emily at the Beetleshack with Stills: A Weekly Collection and another floating around is 'Wordless Wednesdays' via a link up at Twinkle In The Eye.
I do have the occasional peruse of the 'photo days' and challenges on the odd occasion in the blogs that I have mentioned above. However, the main agenda for this perusing is because I am genuinely intrigued with the 'how' of the photography. How did the photographer capture that moment, the thing or landscape so beautifully, rather than the actual objects and people in the photographs.
It is always a bit awe-inspiring when you come across a great picture, a portrait or a still that nails the lighting, a gesture, perfect composition and even pics that have been 'touched up' with awesome phone/computer apps and programs. Honestly it actually keeps me really motivated to master this manual functioning business.
I have always thought about getting involved in a monthly photo challenge such as the one over at Fat Mum Slim, I think they are a great concept not only for capturing the kids and life in general, but its a great way to practice my numb-chucking, I mean photography skills. However I just don't think I have the time or the commitment to stick to such a challenge.
Today is a new blogging idea which encompasses all of the aforementioned 'photography' link ups and challenges. The whole kit and caboodle of my best pics from the camera of everything from around the paddock for the month of June.
I know that the family and the like will probably appreciate the happenings here in the paddock in photo form, for some you might even be totally blown away by my skills and want to keep coming back for more..he he..
Personally I love photos and I just want lots of good memories. You know where you look back on stuff and goo and gaa and gosh and nawww, and even throw in the odd 'crikey' in there too.
Life is certainly flying by very fast. Funny that as we get older. The kiddies really are growing up to quick and its time to capture lots of these moments. Though it hasn't been a concerted effort this month, I still managed, at times to get the camera out and snap a few of the kids and bits and bobs around the house and yard.
It has become cold, we have been indoors a lot and with my expanding belly, the motivation to do lots of other things; gardening, cleaning, ironing, walking, kids to the park, (you get the picture) is definitely waning. June was a concerted effort on the photography front I must admit, maybe not the best month to kick it off but we still did stuff and you gotta start somewhere. Here we go...
The month that was; June....
A mini nursery makeover is very exciting here indeed. Cam's mum Pauline made the curtains and I love them. They lighten and brighten the room so much more and being grey, I am very much looking fwd to filling the room with pops of yellow to match. My favourite colour.
To make way, all of Edie's trinkets and treasures are going to have to be moved. I love that little green elephant that I purchased on our trip to WA earlier this year. Next to that is a little angel statue that filled a shelf in my old bedroom for as long as I can remember. I think it might have to stay as it has always been a magical, guardian angel for me and what tiny new baby doesn't need that.
A sign of the times. Cold, wet and long and lazy days with a few too many late nights in the mix, leading to our afternoon soiree's on the couch.
Pretty jonquils blooming earlier that usual after an unusually warm Autumn and my Dahlia tuber loot.
I busted these two reading quietly together in Hugh's bed one morning.
Operation 'Three Children' in play here with a practice on the foot board attachment to the pram.
I kept this 'vignette' up on the shelf for ages as it made me happy looking at it. Yellow mellow all the way. Im going to join in on some of the fun with the #7vignettes Instagram Challenge over at Interiors Addict for the start of July.
Lots of crafting and mess making with the kids. Anything to capture their minute attention spans to fill in what seems to be the slowest, creeping afternoon hours on these crappy winter days.
My little Buzz Lightyear. he he
Lucky last to complete the month we had a party. Preparations and celebrations. Woop Woop!!!
Thanks for visiting today.
