Up in the Mallee21:16:00
The Mallee is an amazing part of this country.
The colours, the vastness, the dust, the people and even the goddam bloody flies.
We have returned from a great weekend with Cam's sister Yve and her partner Troy.
What did we do you ask? Well let me show you...
A lunch stop in Echuca.
Late afternoon sessions on the back verandah.
Paddocks that stretch for miles into the distance, full of wheat ready for harvest in the coming months.
The softest red dirt underfoot. Always changing and forming wonderful shapes in the landscape, continually blown about by the wind.
The colours. Bright blue skies, the red dirt roads, gorgeous sunsets, bright moonlit nights, the yellowing wheat for miles around.
We got to go to it. The inaugral Patchewollock Music Festival It was a great showcase of local musical talent. We saw a couple of really great bands including the Lazy Farmer's Sons. There was entertainment for the kids, we enjoyed many a cool beverage and to top off the afternoon for us we witnessed the funniest sheep races I have ever seen. The only sheep races I have ever seen. ha ha!
Have you been to a sheep racing event before? How hilarious.
What about a visit to the Mallee? Pack your aeroguard!
Ill have some creative shots for you tomorrow that I took around the farm and about the traps. I loved playing around with the camera over the weekend.
Thanks for visiting today.
